Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: May 20, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of ArkRoute and supplements our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to follow this AUP and the policies of each underlying model provider.
Upstream policies apply. ArkRoute routes your requests to third-party providers (OpenAI, Google, Volcengine, Kling, and others). Their content and usage policies apply to your generated outputs in addition to this AUP. We are not the model owner and do not override their policies.
1. Prohibited Content
You may not use ArkRoute to generate, request, or distribute:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any content that sexually exploits or depicts minors.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, including deepfakes of real people in sexual contexts.
- Content designed to harass, defame, or threaten a specific individual.
- Content that incites violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
- Material that violates intellectual property rights, including unauthorized reproductions of copyrighted characters or trademarks for commercial deception.
- Disinformation impersonating real public figures or institutions in ways likely to mislead.
- Outputs intended to facilitate fraud, scams, or illegal commerce.
2. Prohibited Activities
- Abuse of free credits. Creating multiple accounts, using disposable email, or otherwise circumventing per-account limits to consume free credits at scale.
- Reselling without permission. Repackaging or reselling ArkRoute API access as a competing aggregator without a written reseller agreement.
- Reverse-engineering or scraping the Service to extract upstream provider identifiers, watermarks, or rate-limit internals.
- Sub2API misuse. Connecting a subscription credential you do not own, or connecting a credential whose underlying provider terms forbid third-party programmatic access. You are responsible for confirming your upstream subscription permits the use you delegate to us.
- Denial-of-service. Generating bursts designed to exhaust upstream pools, degrade service for other users, or trigger billing on third parties.
- Credential sharing beyond your team. API keys are per-account; shared across organizations requires Enterprise terms.
3. Rate Limits & Spending Caps
We enforce three layers of protection for both you and the platform:
- Per-API-key rate limit (default 30 requests/minute, raisable on request).
- Per-API-key daily credit cap ($30/day default).
- Per-account daily credit cap ($100/day default across all your keys).
- Anomaly detection: a 5-minute window above 10× your 7-day baseline triggers automatic suspension and a notification to support.
If you need higher limits for a legitimate workload, email support@ark-route.com with your use case.
4. Provenance & Transparency
We pass through upstream provider responses without stripping watermarks, content-policy blocks, or attribution metadata. If a provider's response indicates that output may be AI-generated, you are expected to honor that signal in your downstream product.
5. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in: temporary key suspension, credit forfeiture, account termination, or — in cases involving illegal activity — reporting to appropriate authorities. We reserve the right to remove access without prior notice in response to active abuse.
6. Reporting Abuse
If you believe content generated through ArkRoute violates this AUP, email abuse@ark-route.com with the prompt, output hash if available, and the date. We acknowledge reports within one business day.
7. Changes
We may update this AUP as model capabilities and abuse patterns evolve. Material changes will be announced via the dashboard banner and the changelog at /blog. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
Questions about whether a use case is permitted? Email support@ark-route.com before you build. We'd rather give you a clear answer up front than suspend later.
